The Fool Glass Tarot Card Suncatcher
With beveled edges to catch the light and a twist of hand-dyed gray ombre silk ribbon for hanging, this 3” by 5” glass suncatcher/ornament is beautifully displayed in a window, on a tree, or anywhere that the light will pass through its sandcarved image of The Fool.
The Fool is given the number 0, the number of unlimited potential, and therefore does not have a specific position in the Tarot card sequence. The Fool is depicted as a youth walking exuberantly through the world, in search of experience, pausing at the brink of a precipice. He carries a small sack over his right shoulder and holds a white rose in his left hand, symbolizing innocence. The feather in his cap represents freedom. A small, eager dog bounds forward at his feet, indicating loyalty, protection, and companionship but perhaps lacking the instincts of its undomesticated ancestors.
• Meaning: Beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, originality, innocence, leap of faith
• Element: Fire
• Ruling planet: Jupiter
Each piece is individually sandcarved in our studio, using compressed air and abrasive to actually carve away the glass for a stunning three-dimensional image that you can actually feel with your fingertip (you can read more about the sandcarving process on our “About” page).
