The World Tarot Card Pint Glass
This can-shaped pint glass features an etching of The World, the twenty-first Major Arcana card in traditional Tarot decks.
The World depicts a naked woman dancing at the center of a laurel wreath, which represents a successful completion. Her dancing posture, with one leg crossed over the other, suggests eternal evolution through movement. She holds a wand in either hand, symbolizing a balance of power and will. The wand first appears in the first Major Arcana card, the Magician, and it reappears in the World to indicate that we have come full circle. Surrounding the wreath are four figures, a lion, bull, angel, and eagle, similar to those in the Wheel of Fortune. These figures represent Leo, Taurus, Aquarius, and Scorpio, the four fixed signs of the zodiac. They also represent the four corners of the universe, the four elements, the four suits of the tarot, the four compass points, and the four seasons. Depicted together, they symbolize the harmony between their energies.
•Meaning: Completion, integration, accomplishment, travel
• Element: Earth
• Ruling planet: Saturn
Each glass is individually sandcarved in our studio, using compressed air and abrasive to actually carve away the glass for a stunning three-dimensional image that you can actually feel with your fingertip (you can read more about the sandcarving process on our “About” page). These glasses are made to last a lifetime, and the sandcarved image is completely permanent and dishwasher safe.
Each glass is handcrafted to order, so please allow 1 to 2 weeks of production time as we create one just for you. Please note that our stencils are designed after antique tarot cards that are more than 100 years old, age marks and printing flaws included. As with all handcrafted items, while our listing photos are a good representation of the design you are ordering, you can expect minor distinctions in the pint glass you receive, making it truly one of a kind.
