$50.00

This hand-painted stoneware ornament features The Star, the seventeenth Major Arcana card in traditional Tarot decks, hand painted in full color on white stoneware clay. Each ornament is fired with either transparent crackle glaze (for a glossy surface) or raw (for a velvety matte texture) and tied with a ribbon for hanging. If you have a preference regarding surface finish or ribbon color, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate if inventory allows. Each ornament measures approximately 2 1/4" wide by 3 3/4" tall. Please note that colors may vary slightly from ornament to ornament, and the item pictured in the listing photo may not be the exact ornament you receive.

The Star depicts a naked woman kneeling at the edge of a pool with one foot in the water (representing intuition and emotional strengths) and one on land (representing practicality and groundedness). From each hand, she pours the water of life from a ewer, irrigating both sea and land. To her right, an ibis alights on a tree. The ibis is a symbol of communication, wisdom, transition and trust. Above the woman is a large eight-pointed star, representing her core essence, surrounded by seven smaller eight-pointed stars, which represent the chakras. The eight-pointed star, or octagram, is a widely recognized symbol that carries mystical associations in many cultures across the globe. In addition to its universal symbolism of balance and cosmic order, it often represents beginnings and resurrection and is frequently used to denote the cycle of life, from birth to death. The eight-pointed star may be most recognizable to us as the compass rose, representing the cardinal directions for the eight principal winds.

• Meaning: Hope, faith, inspiration, purpose, renewal, spirituality, opportunities

• Element: Air

• Ruling planet: Uranus
